Adequate preparation, a skilled guide, and proper equipment are essential for a successful and safe climb on this challenging peak.
Mt. Nirekha climbing involves both climbing and trekking. The entire expedition lasts for 20 days, with mountaineers trekking for approximately 10-11 days and dedicating 5 days to the climbing phase, with an additional contingency day. The trekking routes are designed to be manageable for trekkers, and there is a designated climbing route. Climbers must exercise caution while ascending, as the steep and slippery mountain surfaces pose a significant risk. A single technical error could result in a fatal accident for a mountaineer.
The spring (March, April, May) and autumn (September, October, November) seasons are very clear and have less chance of rain, landslides, snow, and avalanches, making them the best for climbing and trekking in the mountain region of Nepal. The weather is unpredictable, but these months are generally the most favorable for the overall climbing journey.
The number of days depends on the package offered by the trekking company, as they have their own day itinerary. For example, Actual Adventure Pvt. Ltd has designed the Mt. Nirekha Peak Climbing package for 20 days, including the days from your arrival in the country to your departure. This climbing package is well-planned and prepared to ensure a successful trek. If you are already in Nepal, the number of days and the cost of the package will be adjusted accordingly.
On summit attempt day, all the climbers start their journey to the summit early in the morning at 1 am. In around 6-7 hours, you will reach the summit, celebrate your successful attempt, capture pictures and videos for memories, and then descend back to base camp for acclimatization.
One guide and one porter are provided for two climbers during the trek, while all the Sherpa guides together form a team for your successful climb to Mt. Nirekha Peak. They will support and assist you at every step throughout the journey.
As the payment for your package has been completed, you don't need to carry the cash amount with you. However, during the trek, if you want to buy gifts, extra food (excluding package inclusions), and tip the guide and porter to appreciate their work, or for any urgent incidents, it's better to have some cash on hand, as credit cards are rarely used in the remote areas of the Everest region during your expedition. You can exchange your country's money into Nepali rupees at a money exchanger in Thamel.
Yes, during your stay at teahouses, their staff will provide you with hot water for drinking without charge. However, if you are not staying in their teahouse or you need hot water for a bath, they will charge an extra fee of 1-2 USD for each bucket.
For climbing, you should have physical fitness, courage to attempt, stamina for trekking and climbing. However, if you are under the age of 5 or above the age of 60, it will be challenging for your own health, as people in these age groups are considered to have weak stamina. We recommend that you climb only if you are physically fit.
