Best Time for Putha Hiunchuli Expedition: A Guide for Trekkers

Embarking on a Putha Hiunchuli Expedition is a thrilling adventure, but choosing the right time is crucial for a successful and enjoyable trek. In this guide, we'll explore the best seasons, the challenges you may encounter, and some frequently asked questions to help you prepare for this extraordinary journey.

Best Seasons for Putha Hiunchuli Expedition

Choosing the Right Time:

Selecting the perfect time for your expedition is crucial for a successful climb. At Actual Adventure, we recommend planning your journey during the Spring or Autumn seasons. During these periods, the weather is mild, with clear skies and comfortable temperatures, providing optimal conditions for a safe and enjoyable climb. Best seasons for putha hiunchuli expedition is April or October

Spring and Autumn: The Prime Times

For an unobstructed view of Putha Hiunchuli, plan your expedition during either Spring or Autumn. These two seasons, spanning from March to May and September to November respectively, offer the best weather conditions for trekkers.

Autumn Charm: September to November

Autumn is particularly favorable as the weather is mild, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 5°C. The landscape transforms into a picturesque display of tinted autumn leaves, creating a mesmerizing trail leading to Putha Hiunchuli. The fresh mountain air adds a rejuvenating touch, making the trek a delightful experience.

Spring Beauty: March to May

Spring is equally enchanting, with vibrant flowers adorning the forests and valleys, resembling a festive celebration. By mid-April, the skies clear up, revealing the stunning beauty of the valley beneath a blue canopy. While early March mornings and nights may be chilly, the overall atmosphere during Spring is captivating.

Avoid Winter and Monsoon: December to February and June to August

Winter Woes: December to February

Winter in Nepal, from December to February, is not the ideal time for a Putha Hiunchuli Expedition. Harsh weather conditions, heavy snowfall, strong winds, and snowstorms pose significant challenges to trekkers. The cold temperatures, dropping below freezing, make the journey uncomfortable and hazardous.

Monsoon Miseries: June to August

Monsoon, from June to August, brings heavy rainfall, making the trails slippery and dangerous. The constant rain and dark clouds obstruct the breathtaking views, making it an unfavorable time for trekking Putha Hiunchuli.

Challenges of Putha Hiunchuli Expedition

1. Altitude Sickness: Adaptation is Key

Altitude sickness is a significant challenge due to the continuous rise in elevation. Symptoms include shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and drowsiness. Acclimatization is crucial to help the body adjust to the low oxygen levels at higher altitudes.

2. Weather and Temperature: Beating the Elements

Unpredictable weather is a constant challenge. Choosing the right season is vital to avoid extreme difficulties. The bitter cold of winter and the slippery, unsafe conditions caused by heavy snowfall can make the trek perilous.

3. Remote Routes: Navigating the Unexplored

The trails to Putha Hiunchuli take trekkers through remote, unpaved routes, often not frequented by many. Navigating through gorges and passes, especially during monsoon, can be challenging due to muddy and rugged conditions.

Putha Hiunchuli Ski

Actual Adventure is set to navigate the easier snow inclines, establish routes, and ensure safety for both climbing and skiing enthusiasts. The Putha expedition kicks off with two thrilling mountain flights to Nepalgunj and Jhupal, followed by a 6-day trek to the base camp at 4900m.
Over the following week, we trek eastward, gaining elevation. Our Sherpa cook team sets up camp along the way, preparing our meals. Eventually, we enter the Bharbun Khola valley, enveloping the north side of the Dhaulagiri range. Nestled in the remote and less crowded Dolpo region of Nepal, the base camp sits at around 4900 meters (16,000 feet). Beyond the base camp, we establish additional camps. Given the snowy and icy terrain, we gear up for skiing adventures on the surface.
The team at Actual Adventures Nepal keeps a watchful eye on your progress and technical skills. Experienced Sherpa guides are at your disposal to refine your technical abilities and impart tricks for high-altitude skiing. This expedition is tailor-made for adventure enthusiasts ready to embark on a ski expedition in the Himalayas. We are thrilled to conduct this program once again and eagerly anticipate collaborating with you on this exhilarating expedition!
