The journey starts with a short and scenic flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla. The airport is the main entrance for almost every trekkers trekking to Everest Region. On your trek you will reach at a high point of 5545m to the best view point on earth which is Kalapatthar. It offers the superb view of Mount Everest along with other several mountains. You will also pass through several Sherpa villages such as, Khumjung, Pangboche, Namche Bazaar which is also a major economic hub of people living in Khumbu region, and many other villages. You will be visiting different monasteries such as Tengboche monastery which is the biggest monastery of that region. You will also encounter the amazing panoramic views of mountains such as Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse etc along with beautiful Gokyo Lake and Gokyo valley.  During your journey you will be staying in the best available lodges and guest houses available in the area. Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,300m/4,264 ft]

Our Actual Adventure representative will be waiting to welcome you in traditional way at the arrival gate of Tribhuwan International Airport. After that they will take you to the hotel in a luxurious private vehicle. You can meet trekking crew at Actual Adventure head office after you check-in your hotel. At evening, you will offer you a traditional welcome Dinner (D) in a traditional high class Nepali restaurant, organized by Actual Adventure. As this will your first day in Nepal, you will never miss the opportunity to make you enjoyed and make you feel overwhelmed. Overnight stay in Hyatt Regency or Similar hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding [2,652m/8,700ft]: 3 - 4 hrs

• Flight time: Could be any from 6:30 Am to 12:00 pm
•  Flight Duration: 35 Minutes.
• Trek Duration: 3 hours.

Early in the morning after having breakfast or with packed breakfast you will drive to airport and board a flight to Lukla. After landing in Lukla you will start a downhill walk and make your way through Chauri kharka village and you further descend to Ghat (2530m). Lukla is one of the most dangerous airstrips of the world.  From here you will trek to Phakding. Following the bank of Dudh Koshi River you finally arrive to Phakding. You will stay in Yeti Mountain Home today.

Day 04: Phakding - Namche Bazaar [3440 m/11,280 ft]: 5 - 6 hrs

• Breakfast at: Same lodge/Teahouse of overnight stay.
• Lunch: In between your trek to onward destination.
• Dinner at: Lodge/Teahouse for overnight stay.
• Total walking hours: 5 to 6 hours.

Following the banks of Dudh Koshi River the trail takes us to Tok Tok village. From here one can view the excellent vista of Thamserku peak. Further continuing the trail climbs to Monjoo (2840m) and then enters to Sagarmatha National Park. Walking some distance uphill you will arrive to Jhorsalle (2830m) and after this you will cross a bridge and witnessing the magical panorama of Everest and Nuptse you will ultimately arrive to Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner at: Namche Bazaar.

After having breakfast you will do some sightseeing around Namche and then hike to Everest View Hotel for the outstanding view of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Kusum Kangaroo, Khongde and Khumbu yu La. Later you will make your way to Khumjung valley where you can see Hillary school, ancient monastery with Yeti skull and Khunde hospital. After this you will retrace your path back to Namche bazaar for overnight stay.

Day 06: Namche Bazzar to Deboche [3820m/1253ft]: 5 - 6 hrs

• Breakfast at: Namche Bazaar
• Lunch: On the way
• Dinner at: Deboche

Today you will have the first view of Mt.Everest during your trial. The trial goes through wooded land, steep valleys and rhododendron and pine trees. You will not gain a lot of altitude today. You will climb about 1,000m and descend over 700mtrs. Today you will walk on an ancient trade route between Nepal and Tibet.  You will pass small monasteries and stupas, with pictures of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan figures of note which gives you a feeling of Tibet. You will also visit the largest monastery of this region Tengboche monastery. The monastery is very well preserved, restored by Edmund Hillary after a fire here in 1989. After walking about 5-6 hours you will reach Deboche. Overnight at best available lodge at Deboche.

Day 07: Deboche to Dingboche [4360m/14304ft]: 4 - 5 hrs

The trek today begins after breakfast at Deboche. The trial passes through several chortens, Mani walls and small villages. You will be enjoying wonderful close-up views of Ama-Dablam Mountain during the trial. You will go north to Pheriche and take east ward trial beneath the towering north face of Ama Dabalam heading towards Imja Valley. From the valley you will trek further you will reach the confluence of Lobuche River. After a short descend and steep climb will take you to Dingboche. You will enjoy beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals upon reaching Dingboche. Overnight at best available lodge at Dingboche.

Day 08: Dingboche - Duglha [4,600 m/15,090 ft]: 3 - 4 hrs

On the eighth day of Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek you will trek to Duglha. The trek begins with a short climb from Dingboche through Khumbu Khola valley. You will trek along the arid terrace which provides you amazing views of the mountains on all sides. Upon reaching Dusa the valley begins to narrow. You will continue the trial to Phulung Karpo below Chola Lake. You will witness the majestic view of Mt.Pumori along the trial which eventually hides across a roaring stream. You will cross a small wooden bridge and a final ascent will take you to Dugla. Overnight at best available lodge at Duglha.

Day 09: Duglha - Lobuche [4940 m/16,207 ft]: 2 - 3 hrs

On the ninth day of Everest Base Camp Luxury lodge trek you will have your breakfast at Duglha and then start your trek to Lobuche. You will trek up to the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the trek between Dughla and Lobuche there is a special place with about 108 memorial chortens to fallen Everest climbers. On the beginning it was reserved for Sherpa guides who died when climbing Everest. But when the years passed the famous foreign mountaineers also got their chortens there. You will witness the amazing views of several peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal on today’s trial. Overnight at best available lodge at Lobuche.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft): 6-7 hours

After having breakfast the trail gradually goes uphill through the side of Khumbu glacier to Gorakshep. The path to Gorakshep is rocky and windy but offers the spectacular view of Mt Pumori and Everest Base Camp. Following the Khumbu glacier the trek continues. The path here can be confusing, so it is very important to follow your Sherpa guide. Each year the trail changes due to the movement of glaciers. The walk is quite tiring as it goes through rocky dunes, moraine and streams till you reach the Base Camp. Due to high altitude and thin air you too may face some breathing problem. After having a grand time here you will retrace your path back to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

Day 11: Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche [4280 m/14,070 ft]: 8 - 9 hrs

Early in the morning you will hike to Kalapathar to witness a 360degree panorama of regal mountain peaks. This rocky peak with the altitude of 5545m gives the joy and sense of self-satisfaction which is beyond imagination. From here the Everest looks amazing and the panoramic view of Khumbu glacier seen in the south sweeps you up. After having your breakfast in Gorakshep you will descend down to Pheriche. Stay overnight in Pheriche.

Day 12: Pheriche-Pangboche-Tengboche-Namche Bazzar [3,440 m/11,280 ft]: 6 - 7 hrs

You have now almost completed your trek. You will descend down to Namche Bazaar from Pheriche. The trial descends through rhododendron and juniper trees to Pangboche. Continuing your trial further you will reach to Phunki Tenga. You will have your lunch there and trek further to Dudh Koshi River. You cross Dudh Koshi River and again descend through pine forests from Dudh Koshi George to Sansa. On your trial today you can also see mountain goats, snow leopards and colorful pleasant. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar you will take rest and again roam around the market. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar - Lukla [2,800m/9,186ft]: 6 hrs

You will have your breakfast at Namche and begin the trek. You will trek back to Lukla following the same trial via Pheriche. Today you will have the last day at mountains. Staying at Lukla you can have a flash back to your wonderful trekking memories. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 14: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu

Early in the morning you will catch a scenic flight back to Kathmandu over the Himalayas. You can view the mountains for the last few minutes during your flight. The representatives of Actual Adventure will drop you to the hotel after you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. After having lunch you will have plenty of time for sightseeing and shopping.

Day 15: Final Departure

You will be transferred to Tribhuwan International airport for your onward journey. We hope you had a wonderful time in Nepal with us and we will be glad to serve you again.

NOTE: The trekkers are recommend to arrive a day earlier at Kathmandu before the start of Trek. It is because arriving a day earlier gives you ample time for rest and also you can buy the necessary trekking gears in Kathmandu in case you haven’t brought it with you. Also it is better if you are prepared for the unforeseeable weather of Everest Region with some additional days besides the trip schedule so that you won’t miss your International flight even if the Lukla flight is delayed or cancelled. You will offer you welcome dinner in Kathmandu on your arrival day and due to any reasons if the welcome dinner cannot be provided the following day then you will offer you farewell dinner before your departure.

NOTE: During the trip, the unpredictable factors like, weather, local politics, transport and many more which are beyond your control can bring some change in the itinerary. In such case, if the alternation in the itinerary is necessary, then the trek leader will decide for the best alternative with the consent and interest of the whole group. If the change occurs we will do our best to minimize its effect; however the company cannot be responsible for the results of changes and delays.

Flight Delay in Kathmandu and Lukla

Since, the weather in the Everest region is unpredictable and is likely to change every few hours, the Lukla flight often gets delayed or even cancelled.

Lukla Airport is situated on a wonderful valley surrounded by high mountains. Landing and taking off from Lukla is considered to be difficult and technical. Therefore, Lukla is considered as the most dangerous airstrips in the world.

Twin Otter and Dornier planes are the primary mode of transport to and from the airstrip at Lukla. This service is fairly dependable. However, if flight to and from Lukla are cancelled in case of bad weather conditions in Everest region, you can help you charter a helicopter upon your request to ensure you are on schedule for your trip and international flight connections. The helicopter charge is to be paid by the passengers themselves and can be reimbursed from their travel insurance later. The helicopter charges USD 2,500 to USD 3,000 per helicopter. The helicopter can carry up to 4 to 6 passengers at a time and the cost can be shared among the passengers. The company can help by providing necessary documents required to claim the amount from insurance company.

The payment for helicopter must be paid at time of service by participant. US dollars cash or credit cards (Visa Cards, Master Cards, and American Express) are accepted for helicopter transport. Any card payment requires a 4% bank fee, which goes directly to the bank.

The helicopter can fly if the visibility is 1500m or greater, while the twin otter and Dornier planes can fly if the visibility is 5000m or greater, as per Nepal’s Civil Aviation rules. If there is extreme and the visibility is lesser than 1,500m helicopters cannot be operated. In such case you will reschedule your flight for next day depending on the availability. If this situation keeps on getting repeated for many days then you will provide you with the alternative trek options.
