Nepal home to eight out of fourteen highest peaks in the world
is naturally very rich country due to its unique geographical position and
altitudinal variations. The altitude of the country ranges from 60m above the
sea level to the highest peak in the world within the distance of 150km which
results into the climatic conditions from sub-tropical to alpine. Nepal also
carries the history from medieval era and has some architecturally rich
cultural heritages as it grants a joyous diversity of sightseeing attractions
and adventure opportunities.
If you have very short time frame but you like to get an
insight into the life and culture of the place then this is your trip. This
free-spirited trip enables you to get into the real Nepal- from bazaar and
temples of Kathmandu to stunning Pokhara and unbelievably beautiful Nagarkot.
Day 1: Kathmandu
Arrival
As your aircraft lands in Tribhuwan International Airport
our representative will receive you and help you to transfer into the hotel of
your choice. Kathmandu is the capital and the largest city of the country. Stay
overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Explore
Kathmandu
Today we will start our sightseeing tour by visiting Patan
Durbar Square which is situated in the southern area of the city. The square is
dotted with ancient palaces, temples and shrines which are known for their
antique and exquisite carvings. From here we will proceed to Kathmandu Durbar
Square which is the historic seat of Nepalese royalty. Here we will visit
Kastamandap Temple (a temple rumored to be constructed from the wood of single
tree), Taleju temple, statue of Kal Vairab, Basantapur palace and Kumari Temple
(residence of living goddess Kumari). After this we will pay our visit to
Swoyambhunath temple which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple
dates back to 2500years and is situated in the hilltop offering the astonishing
view of Kathmandu. Return back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3: Drive to
Nagarkot
Early in the morning we will visit Pashupatinath temple
which is situated 5km east of Kathmandu in the bank of holy Bagmati River.
Pashupatinath is a pagoda shaped temple with tow tiered golden roofs and silver
doors. Only the Hindu’s can visit the temple, but the visitors can clearly see
the temple and activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern
bank of Bagmati River where the dead bodies cremated in the bank. From here we
will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is located 8km east of Kathmandu. Boudhanath
stupa is dome shaped monument representing the mind of Buddha and pilgrimage
destination for Tantric Buddha. In the afternoon we will drive towards
Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is the home of medieval art and architecture. The
main square contains innumerable temple and other architectural showpieces like
Lion Gate, statue to King Bhupatindra Malla, Golden Gate, the palace with
55windows, Batsaka Temple and the bell of barking dogs. In the evening we will
drive towards Nagarkot which is situated 32km east of Kathmandu in the altitude
of 2175m. From here one can see Mt Everest in a very clear day. Stay overnight
at hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 4: Drive to
Pokhara
We will wake up Early in the morning for the spectacular
view of rising sun. As the first rays of the sun strikes into the peaks a
hellish red color slowly lightens the whole Himalaya range from Kanchanjunga
and Everest in the east to Annapurna and Dhawalagiri in the west. After this we
will drive back to Kathmandu and then to Pokhara. Pokhara is situated 200km
west of Kathmandu at the altitude of 827m from the sea level. Pokhara is one of
the most scenic spots of the country whose beauty is enhanced by the lakes of
Phewa, Begnas and Rupa .
Day 5: Drive to
Sarankot and back to Pokhara
We will wake up very early in the morning and drive to
Sarankot to see sunrise over the magnificently snowcapped Himalayas. Sarankot
situated in the altitude of 1500m from the sea level gives you an option of
paragliding over the lake city. Later we will drive back to hotel and have
breakfast. After breakfast we will set off for city tour and visit places like
David’s fall, Gupteshwor cave and Tibetan refugee camp. Stay overnight at hotel
in Pokhara.
Day 6: Drive back to
Kathmandu
We will drive back to Kathmandu. As we arrive to Kathmandu
we will check into the hotel and in the evening you are free on your own as you
can do sightseeing or family shopping.
Day 7: Farewell
You will be transferred to Tribhuwan International airport
for your onward journey
